SOUNDBATHS

Soundbath Relaxation in Croydon
A meditative journey into deep rest through sound and vibration.

What Is a Soundbath?
A soundbath is a soothing, immersive experience where you are bathed in layers of sound from crystal bowls, gongs, and chimes. Rather than doing anything physically, you simply lie down, get comfortable, and allow the vibrations to wash over you.

Sound has been used for centuries to bring balance and harmony, and modern research shows that certain tones can help calm the nervous system, release tension, and encourage deep rest. Many people describe leaving a soundbath feeling lighter, clearer, and deeply restored.

No previous experience is needed, just come as you are and let the sound do the work.

What to Expect at Croydon Yoga Hub
Our soundbaths usually last around 60–90 minutes (check specific event timings). You’ll begin by settling in comfortably with mats, blankets, bolsters, and eye pillows provided by the studio. After a short grounding meditation, your facilitator will weave together instruments such as crystal singing bowls, gongs, and chimes to create a soundscape designed to guide you into a deep state of relaxation.

The session closes gently, giving you time to reawaken and return to the day with a renewed sense of calm and balance.

Benefits of Sound Healing
People often join soundbaths to:

  • Reduce stress and anxiety

  • Support better sleep

  • Find mental clarity and emotional balance

  • Encourage meditation and mindfulness

  • Restore energy levels and a sense of calm

Each experience is unique - you may feel deeply rested, inspired, or even notice subtle emotional release.

(Please note: sound healing is a holistic practice and not a replacement for medical care.)

Is a Soundbath Right for Me? (Contraindications)

Soundbaths are generally safe and deeply relaxing for most people. However, there are a few cases where extra care is recommended:

  • Pregnancy: It’s best to consult your healthcare provider before attending a soundbath while pregnant, particularly in the first trimester. Some instruments produce deep, low-frequency sounds, and every pregnancy is different.

  • Epilepsy or seizures triggered by sound

  • Pacemakers or other implanted electronic devices

  • Severe mental health conditions such as schizophrenia

If you are unsure whether a soundbath is suitable for you, please check with your doctor before booking.

Soundbath FAQs

  • Not at all. Soundbaths don’t involve movement, you simply lie down and listen.

  • Anything you feel comfortable and relaxed in. Many people wear soft layers, similar to what they’d wear for yoga or lounging at home.

  • We provide mats, bolsters, blankets, and eye pillows so you can fully relax without needing to bring anything but a bottle of water to rehydrate afterwards.

  • Yes, and it’s very common! Even if you drift off, your body and mind will still benefit from the vibrations.

  • Our soundbaths are designed for adults and are open to age 16+ (with a parent/guardian).

  • Everyone’s experience is unique. You may feel lighter, calmer, and more centred, or you may notice emotions moving through you. It’s always a good idea to drink water and take your time after the session.
